The Rainier Arts Festival, partly funded by public grants, also depends on business and individual gifts to succeed. With the economic downturn, funding for art programs and projects has been slashed across the board. The need for art funding is greater now than ever before. Even modest donations, from a number of people, can, and will, make a difference in the lives of the artists and the community members of the Upper Nisqually region.

Art programs and events, such as the Rainier Art Festival, challenge and help build critical thinking skills - especially important in the education of children and teens.
